Restoring the order of the Group Policy object links. (4353473)

This article describes how Recovery Manager restores the order of the Group Policy object links.

Recovery Manager provides for the Group Policy Restore wizard that enables you to restore the order of the Group Policy object (GPO) links.

To restore the order of the GPO links, the application performs the following steps:

1. In the backup, the wizard finds the index of the link to be restored, and uses that index to get the link that is one level higher in the GPO links list.

2. The wizard searches Active Directory for the link that is one level higher in the links list.

3. If the link is found, in the links list, the wizard inserts the link to be restored one level lower and then terminates the link restoration. Otherwise, it goes to Step 2.

NOTE: If the wizard cannot find any link using the procedure above, the restored link will be highest in the GPO links list.
