Attachments with invalid characters cause the attached file to not migrate -
Description
When migrating files from a Domino database into SharePoint, there maybe files which contain characters that do not migrate. -
Cause
Filenames with the following characters can't be migrated into a SharePoint:- Tilde ~
- Number sign #
- Percent %
- Ampersand &
- Asterisk *
- Braces { }
- Backslash \
- Colon :
- Angle brackets < >
- Question mark ?
- Slash /
- Plus sign +
- Pipe |
- Quotation mark "

Resolution
WORKAROUND
Remove the invalid characters from the filename in the database being migrated.
Example: File Project |A|.docx in Notes should be renamed to Project A.doc removing the pipe character before migrating the file.
