Follow the procedure titled "Extracting a Database Using BrightStor ARCserve Backup" from the Recovery Manager for Exchange User Guide and Help File, the restore fails with an error:
"Please make a selection or enter a valid path for Destination."
Step 11 of the procedure Extracting a Database Using BrightStor ARCserve Backup contains incorrect instructions.
WORKAROUND:
In step 11 of the procedure:
1. Select the Destination Tab and clear the "Restore files to their original location(s)" check box.
2. Browse the directory tree in the right pane and expand the computer running Recovery Manager.
3. Perform one of the following:
- If you restore data from Exchange Server 2000 or Exchange Server 2003, select "Microsoft Exchange Server - Database Level (IS)."
- If you restore data from Exchange Server 5.5, select "Microsoft Exchange Server - Database Level."
4. Proceed with Step 12 from "Extracting a Database Using BrightStor ARCserve Backup" procedure.
STATUS:
Waiting for a fix in a future release of Recovery Manager for Exchange.
