Email alerts in Change Auditor are failing to send with the following error in the coordinator logs:
SMTP Exception: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
The SMTP test on the coordinator configuration sends successfully but the alert emails fail to send.
Option 1) Try sending a text only version of the alert and see if it is successful.
Option 2) Configure the message body and compare the variable settings on both the text and HTML versions, look for discrepancies in the variable names or typos and fix as necessary. (Note you will have to turn off the "Use Global Events" checkbox to do so). Sometimes making a small innocuous customization to the html will fix the issue (add or remove a letter or a trailing space after a column header), just remember to leave the "Use Global Events" box unchecked.
