Cause 1:
Domino user is not valid
Cause 2:
Domino user was not "Registered"
Cause 3:
Notes allows invalid characters to be entered in the address fields, which can result in mismatched addresses during queries
Resolution 1:
Open the Notes Client on the CMN Free Busy server and try performing a native free busy lookup for this Notes user. Any native Notes issues will need to be resolved.
Resolution 2:
Typically, for a Notes user to be considered "valid", the user needs to be created using the native Domino "Register..." process.
Resolution 3:
When the Notes Free/Busy Connector log reports on invalid user / address, one thing to confirm is that the SMTP address listed in the Domino Directory for the Notes user or resource does not contain any leading or trailing spaces.
Notes allows invalid characters to be entered in the address fields, which can result in mismatched addresses during queries. The addresses must be identical in order for the Notes Free/Busy Connector to receive free/busy information for the Notes object.
The Domino Admin client may not always show this white space, but it can be viewed using NotesPeek. The log will appear like below, where CMN states that it found the item, but will then search for it again and report that it did not find it.
