Under certain circumstances, when performing a free busy query in the Notes client for an Exchange user, there will be no busy data displayed. In this case, the free busy request will come back all white, meaning all times are available. This is a successful free busy request, as the Notes client does not show "greyed out" (No Info) for free busy. The QCalCon log file and ExchangeFreeBusyService log file will show that free busy data was queried successfully, but the Notes client does not display the data.
There are generally two causes for this issue.
1.) The busy data in Exchange is in the past, the Notes client does not show busy data that occurred in the past.
2.) The busy times being queried for in Exchange fall outside of the scheduled working hours of the Notes user that is performing the free busy query. This typically occurs when the Notes user that is performing the query and the user they are querying are in different time zones.
Workaround 1:
Create free busy times in Exchange that occur in the future and perform the free busy query again.
Workaround 2:
In order to query free busy for all hours, you can enable the "Show 24-hour scheduler" feature in the Notes client. This feature can be enabled by following these steps:
1.) Open Notes client.
2.) File | Preferences | Calendar and To Do | Calendar & To Do tab | Scheduling tab | Scheduler Display tab
3.) Check the box for the "Show 24-hour scheduler" feature.
4.) Create a new meeting and perform a new free busy query.
