In some scenarios Message Queuing needs to be removed or reinstalled. For example migration is finished and DSA has been removed but Message Queuing still remains, or MSMQ simply needs to be reinstalled as part of the troubleshooting process. What are the required steps?
DSA is using Message Queuing for synchronization and migration. It is a Microsoft component which is part of the operating system.MSMQ is normally installed during DSA installation, also creating additionalnode private queue andassigning proper permissions. There is no need to deploy MSMQ manually prior to the DSA install.
Touninstall or reinstall Message Queuing on a Windows 2003 server, pleaseuse the Add/Remove Programs| Add/Remove Windows Components| Application Server and then correspondingly select or unselect Message Queuing.
Note: Uninstalling Message Queuing manually is not recommended if the DSA agent is still in use. DSA needs to be uninstalled first before removing MSMQ.
The Message Queuing data can be cleared as well by following this solution:https://support.quest.com/SUPPORT/index?page=solution&id=SOL24079
This may be a useful troubleshooting step if problem with DSA agent is caused by this component.
