When migrating user data with Migrator for Notes to Exchange (MNE), you may experience the following error:
Shared memory from a previous Notes/Domino run has been detected, this process will exit now.
Resolution 1:
Upgrade the Notes Client on MNE migration server to Notes Client 8.5.3 FixPack 6 or higher.
Resolution 2:
Turn off User Account Control (UAC).
1.) Open the User Accounts Control Panel.
2.) Click "Change User Account Control Settings".
3.) Move the slider bar all the way down to the bottom.
4.) Restart the MNE migration server.
Resolution 3:
Even after turning down UAC, as described above, the MNE Migration Manager should still always be "Run as Administrator".
Resolution 4:
Reinstall the Notes Client using the following steps:
1.) Open the Programs and Features Control Panel
2.) Locate the Notes Client in the list of installed programs and highlight it.
3.) Click the Uninstall button.
4.) After the uninstall is complete, restart the MNE migration server.
5.) Rename the existing Notes Client install directory on the MNE migration server from "Notes" to "OldNotes". Typically, the Notes Client is installed in one of the following locations:
C:\Program Files(x86)\IBM\Notes
C:\Program Files(x86)\Lotus\Notes
6.) Reinstall Notes Client 8.5.3 FixPack 6 or higher (Notes Client 9.0.1 is highly suggested) in Single User mode (not for all users of the computer).
Resolution 5:
This issue can be caused by corruption in the Notes mail file (.nsf). Try migrating a subset of data. If you experience this issue with 10 users in a collection, then try to look at the "User Status" button and remove the user stuck at "0%" from the collection. If you are migrating mail, archive, and personal address books, try migrating just 1 item type at a time to try to narrow down where the issue lies.
Resolution 6:
Explicitly add the Notes migration admin (Notes ID configured in MNE) as a "Manager" to each Notes user being migrated:
Note: The following step by step guide shows how to apply permissions for multiple users using the Domino Administrator application. If you need additional assistance with the Domino Administrator application, we would recommend contacting IBM directly. Quest assumes not responsibility for following directions, do so at your own risk.
1.) Open the Domino Administrator application.
2.) Select the Files tab at the top.
3.) Select the mail folder on the left-hand pane.
4.) Multi-select the users that you are trying to migrate, then right click and choose Access Control | Manage ACL:
5.) Confirm the number of users selected and click Add:
6.) Add the Note migration admin, as configured in MNE, as a Manager with permissions enabled:
7.) Confirm that the permissions were applied successfully:
8.) Try re-migrating the users with Migrator for Notes to Exchange.
