Migrator for Notes to Exchange (MFNE) is designed to maintain continuity between Notes and Exchange. MFNE is designed to take the left hand side of the "@" (local-part) of the Notes Internet Address and apply a different domain (as required), when setting forwarding, during the forwarding/coexistence period. MFNE is not currently designed to change the local-part email address naming convention as part of the migration or set forwarding process.
WORKAROUND
As a workaround, it is possible to change the email address that MFNE gathered from Notes by manually editing the NME40DB database. This can be done by using the following procedure:
1.) Open the MFNE Migration Manager.
2.) Click the Export Notes Directory Screen.
3.) Click the Export Object to TSV button.
4.) Open the TSV file with Excel.
5.) The TargetAddress column (F) can be edited to match the new naming convention.
Note: In order to be able to reply to older emails with the old email address, the old email address will need to be added to the "proxyAddresses" attribute in Active Directory. This can be done by MFNE, if the MFNE Provision process is ran and the old email address is added to the TargetAlias column (C).
6.) After editing is complete, Save the TSV file.
7.) Click the Import Objects from TSV button in MFNE.
Note: As each environment and migration is different, we would recommend testing these steps thoroughly in your environment before implementation.
