Can Journals be migrated?
Journal migrations can be done if you treat the Journal files as archives. This can be done either at the desktop using the SSDM or it can be done with NME if you collect all the user journal files and then populate the archive path for each user with the full path and file name.
With SSDM, you may need to point the tool to the actual Journal file after selecting the "Migrate Archives" checkbox.
For the Migration Manager when migrating Journals, the ArchivePaths column needs to be used. Perform the following steps:
1- Export the desired collection to TSV
2- Open the exported TSV file and modify the ArchivePaths column as described in SOL27457 titled "How Do I Specify Per-User Locations for Notes Source Data" (where the 'ArchivePaths' value is full UNC path to NSF file)
3- Import the TSV back into Quest Notes Migrator for Exchange
4- Run the Locate Notes Data Store and choose the new "Use ArchivePaths and/or SharedArchiveDir from database" radio button <- If this does not appear, then the TSV import did not work
5- Use the Migrator User Data to move the Journal.
**Note** To find the Journal in Outlook 2013 click the link Discontinued features and changes in Outlook 2013 for additional information.
Journal still exists and can be selected from the Folders view in the Folder Pane.
