CMN Notes to Exchange Directory Connector is removing proxyAddresses [CMN 3.4 onwards]

If proxyAddresses have been manually added to Active Directory users or contacts, or through a process outside of CMN, then those proxyAddresses will be removed by the Directory Connector.

Note: As of CMN version 3.8.0.60, the following steps are already implemented by default for any new connectors created from scratch after upgrading to 3.8.0.60. Only connectors that were created with CMN versions prior to 3.8.0.60 would need to follow the steps below.

The following procedure will implement a setting to workaround this issue:

1.) Exit the CMN Management Console

2.) Open the "configuration.xml" file, which be default is located in the following location:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Quest Software\Quest Coexistence Manager For Notes\Directory Connector

3.) Locate the Notes to Exchange Directory Connector in which you would like to implement this option. You can locate the proper Directory Connector by searching for the "<Name>" tag in the configuration.xml file.

4.) Under the proper Directory Connector "<Name>" tag, locate the <Resources> tag.

5.) Create a new line under the <Resources> tag.

6.) Paste the following information into the new line:

<AppendAttributes>proxyaddresses</AppendAttributes>

7.) Save and Close the configuration.xml file.

8.) "Activate" the CMN Directory Connector.

Note: If additional changes are made to the Directory Connector settings via the CMN Management Console GUI, then the "<AppendAttributes>proxyaddresses</AppendAttributes>" setting may get removed. After making changes in the GUI and saving the configuration, check the "configuration.xml" file for this setting before activating the configuration.

A new Directory Connector configuration parameter lets you specify a list of one or more target attributes whose values will be appended to, rather than replaced by, a connector running in Update mode. That is, for each object in the directory, the value of each designated attribute in the source will be added to any existing value in the target. Attributes not specified in this feature will continue to be replaced by their corresponding source values. This parameter is configured separately for each DC connector, in the connector's section of the DC Configuration.xml file. To designate the desired attribute(s) for a particular connector, find (or add) the tags for the connector, and enter the target attribute names separated by a pipe character ("|"), like this: proxyaddresses
