How does Recovery Manager for Exchange treat deleted items and dumpster items?
In Recovery Manager for Exchange Retention Items will be marked with a 'Red X'. Hard deleted items will be placed in the folder that they resided before the hard delete, soft deleted items will be placed in the 'Deleted Items' folder of the mailbox.
