Sending of Email fails : Client was not authenticated
Description

Not able to send email alerts from Spotlight. Getting error message Client not authenticated. SMTP server requires TLS encryption on port, can set port but not the encryption method.
Cause

Setting TLS encryption for SMTP is not supported at the moment.
Resolution

WORKAROUND:
A workaround might be to run an external application which sends e-mail.

STATUS:
Enhancement request ER has been submitted to Development for consideration in a future release Spotlight on SQL Server Enterprise.
