The following error may appear "The 10.2 Oracle client you are using is older than 11.1 Oracle server you are connecting to...."
You can suppress this error by putting checkmark "do not show again" but it will not solve the problem. You will not be able to connect to some databases.
Any connection with a server version greater than the client version will not connect.
WORKAROUND:
1. Start spotlight and go to history options | click on Options button
2. Select the path were the snapshots are stored and copy the path into clipboard
3. Open a windows explorer and paste path in address bar. Go one folder up.
4. This folder contains config.xml, the spotlight configuration.
5. There are two options now, edit the config.xml manually or delete config.xml.
If you opt to change the config.xml manually, which we recommend, open config.xml with notepad and search for OCI. The following config item should appear:
<ConfigItem Name="Continue After OCI Check fails" ProductId="SoO" Value="bool:0"/>
Change the zero to a one:
<ConfigItem Name="Continue After OCI Check fails" ProductId="SoO" Value="bool:1"/>
6. Then save config.xml, restart spotlight and make a connection which was failing before.
