Unable to migrate personal sites (MySites) to Office 365 (4339677)

Using Content Matrix 7.2 or higher, personal sites or MySites are not migrating to Office 365 using the Tenant connection type. The following error messages may also be encountered:

401 Unauthorized

Object reference not set to an instance of an object

The issue occurs even if the migrating account has farm administrator permission on both source and target SharePoint farms.

This is a default enforced behavior by Microsoft for all new MySites on an Office 365 multi-tenant environment. Once a MySite is created on Office365, standard access is only allowed for the first 24 hours. Exactly 24 hours after a MySite is created in Ofice 365, a lock is placed on it, and it becomes inaccessible.

1. Log in to the SharePoint Admin Center.
2. Click Settings, then set both options in the Custom Script section to "Allow users to run script".
   
   
    
3. Click OK, the then the administrator must manually re-grant permission to the MySite.
