error in the support bundle error log:
" Upgrade or create new Spotlight user
Spotlight encountered an error while initializing the connection NNNNN.
Most common reason for that error is when the spotlight user (used in the connection manager) was not configured or was configured but not used.
Please do the following to have your Spotlight working:
1) open Spotlight console
2) On the Spotlight menu bar, click on File | select Oracle user wizard
3) on the first screen it will ask you for the DBA account - you would use SYS just to grant permissions to your spotlight user on the next screen.
4) on the following screens it will ask you if you want to use existing user or create new one (either way is fine). That is the place where you either create new spotlight user or upgrade existing Spotlight user (for example you would name your user Spot or Spotlight or quest or something else) and make up a password.
5) After the wizard completes, launch the connection manager and delete the old connection icons (right click and select delete in submenu) or edit their properties and create new ones (double click on New Connection icon).
6). IMPORTANT: While you are creating connection please make sure to use Spotlight user (newly created or upgraded in steps 1-4) in the field where you are asked to enter Oracle account (3rd field from top in the connection properties).
7) Try to connect using the new connection to see if the issue is solved.
If that doesn't work then please use the manual script taken from your PC to be run on the server you are connecting to.
The manual script's default location on your PC (to be ran on the monitored server directly) is on your client machine where you have your Spotlight installed under : c:\Program Files\Quest Software\Spotlight\Plug-ins\SoO\OracleScripts
You can copy or ftp that script file to your monitored server and run it there (spool).
Once finished then go back to your client machine and use that user you just created with the script (or upgraded), for your new connection in Spotlight's connection manager.
