How to do historical Mailbox Audit gathering?
The Archive Path needs to be filled out with the Tracking Log Share Name where the archived log files are located before running an Interactive Gathering (Tools Menu, Options, General Tab in the MessageStats Console).
Once this has been entered and saved, make sure that the Mailboxes have been selected to be Audited from the Tools Menu, Audit, Mailboxes.
Now the Exchange Servers can be added to the Interactive Tab, click Next, select the dates of the tracking log files to import the historical data from, click Start, click Next again and confirm the tracking logs are listed before starting the gatherings.
