For example you can only upgrade to Spotlight on SQL Server Enterprise 9.5 from Spotlight on SQL Server Enterprise 9.2 or 9.0. If you are using an earlier version of Spotlight, upgrade to 9.0 before upgrading to 9.5.2.
Example:If you need to upgrade from version 7 to version 9.5 you will need to do some extra upgrades first:
1)from 7 to 8
2)from 8 to 8.5
3)from 8.5 to 9.2
4)from 9.2 to 9.5.X
For upgrade from versions prior to 10.5.2 to version 12, it is necessary to upgrade to 10.5.2 first.
