The K1000/KSMA searches the following registry location on a Windows system to determine what software to listed under the Installed Programs section (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall).
In the case of programs like Internet Explorer 11, no entry exists in the above location so the program is not listed in the Installed Programs section.
In addition to the Installed Program section, the K1000/KSMA searches for software to list in the Discovered Software section. The Discovered Software section is based on the file names and version of the file on the system. (Device | <Click on a System> | Under the SOFTWARE section | Discovered Software)
In the case of Internet Explorer 11 that file would be IEXPLORE.EXE with the version of 11.00.9600.16428. The Discovered Software section together with the Installed Programs section provides a more complete listed of the software install of a system.
