How to create a new audit database (4330067)

If for some reason or another the audit database needs to be created, how is it done?

Customer may request the steps to create a new Audit DB.

1. Create a new database from SQL Studio Manager, right click Databases -> New Database:

• If you use an account that has the dbo role, no database pre-configuration is needed.
• If the account is not a dbo - you will need to run a script that will create a proper structure and roles for this new database. The script is located here: %InTrust_CD%\Scripts\Database Scripts\auditdb.sql

2. Launch the InTrust Manager
3. Navigate to Configuration | Data Stores | Databases
4. Right-click Databases and select New Database
5. Follow through the New Database Wizard

Note: If you already have Import jobs set up, then you will need to re-point them to the new Audit DB.

Now you need to re-point reports to the new Audit DB. Remember that Quest Knowledge Portal is built on Micorosft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). See below how to repoint Intrust reports to your new Audit DB:

1.- From the Data sources section in the QKP create a new Data Source, I would suggest you to name as your new Audit DB.
2.- From the Reports section click on Property Manager wizard.
3.- Select Next until you get windows "Select Target Reports", then select Intrust.
4.- On windows "Select Properties to Apply" select Data source.
5.- In Specify Data source select your new Audit DB and Finish.
