You may encounter a situation where the Directory Synchronization Agent (DSA) will not stop despite right-clicking "Synchronization" and clicking "Stop" - the "Job Status" will be listed as "stopping", but the agent does not stop.
WORKAROUND:
Open services.msc on the machine where the DSA is installed. Find and stop all services that begin with "Quest Directory Synchronization Agent" Close (if applicable) and re-open QMM, and check the "Job Status". The DSA should now be stopped.
After the agent has confirmed to be stopped, the stopped agents, can be restarted.
**Please note: not all agents may stay running after being started. This is by design.**
STATUS:
Waiting for fix in a future release of Migration Manager for AD.
The steps from the SOL93861 should be tried as last resort, only after contacting support (via support ticket) and after creating a backup of the ADAM / AD LDS Database.
