Tests fail with error: "The test failed to execute using Diagnostic Services. Verify the Distributed Collector service is running on localhost using port 9610"
Confirm that both the Spotlight Diagnostic Test Engine and Spotlight Distributed Collector services exist, are started, set to Automatic and are using the SOM service account.
If the Spotlight Distributed Collector service does not exist:
Run the folliwng command:
- SpotlightDistributedCollector.exe /service
Check the services again to ensure the Spotlight Distributed Collector service is present, started, set to Automatic and is using the SOM service account
Confirm that the SpotlightDistributeCollectorService DCOM object exists:
If the DCOM object does not exist try rebooting the Spotlight on Messaging server.
To further troubleshoot this issue:
If none of the above are help try setting the Database Settings back to the Default.
Open the Spotlight on Messaging Console, Expand Global Settings and select Database Settings
Set the "Web Reports daily data retention (days)" to 30
Set the "Web Reports hourly data retention (days)" to 7
Set the "Test Result History data retention (days)" to 7
