SQL Server ERRORLOG is growing and information events are added often
Description
When working with Change Auditor and enabling SQL Server Data Level Auditing (DLA) you may notice that the SQL Server ERRORLOG file is growing. After reviewing the ERRORLOG file you find that there are a lot of DBCC TRACEON\OFF messages.
Cause
We have created the following enhancement request:
VSTS#20603 - As a CA Administrator, I would like the CA agent to not record DBCC TRACEON messages in SQL ErrorLog when DLA auditing is enabled
Resolution
We did find reference to trace flag -T2505 which can be added to the start-up parameters of the SQL Server service. This flag would disable the DBCC TRACEON\OFF log entries. The flag is undocumented so you should be cautious if you decide to go that route.
