A user wants to generate a report or spreadsheet (XLS/CSV) containing the headers of search results (e.g., Sender, Subject, Date) for analysis. However, the Archive Manager website primarily allows exporting full email messages (EML/MSG) and does not have a visible "Export to Excel" button.
The Archive Manager web interface does not have a native feature to export the search grid directly to a CSV or XLS file.
However, you can utilize the Search Exporter tool to generate an HTML summary of the search results, which can then be opened and saved in Microsoft Excel.
To export search results to Excel, you must use the Search Exporter external tool and then import the resulting HTML file into Excel.
Log in to the Archive Manager Website with Administrator privileges.
Click on the Administrator tab (top right).
Click Download Tools (bottom left menu).
Download and install the Search Exporter tool on your local machine.
Note: Do not run the tool yet. It is triggered automatically by the website in the next steps.
Return to the Search tab and run your desired query.
Once the results are displayed, click the Export icon located above the search results grid.
When prompted by the browser, choose to Open the file. This will automatically launch the installed Search Exporter tool.
In the Exporter window, select a Destination Directory for the files.
Click Start to begin the download.
Warning: This process exports the full content of every email in the search results. Ensure you have sufficient disk space before proceeding.
Once the export is complete, open Microsoft Excel.
Go to File > Open and browse to the destination directory you selected in Step 2.
Change the file type dropdown from "Excel Files" to "All Files (.)" or "Web Pages".
Select the default.html file generated by the export and click Open.
Excel will convert the HTML table into rows and columns. You can now delete any unwanted columns (such as the message body links) and save the file as an Excel Workbook (.xlsx).
