QUESTION:
Is it possible to replace the motherboard embedded copper NIC with a fiber one on the r720
Cause

ANSWER:
No. At this time replacing the motherboard embedded copper NIC with a fiber NIC is not supported. Using a port extender is not supported either.
Resolution

WORKAROUND:
A copper-to-fiber converter (or transceiver) will work. We do not recommend a manufacturer however there are several different brands on the market.
