The SDA uses the same .cab files that are posted on http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/enterprise-client/w/wiki/2065.dell-command-deploy-driver-packs-for-enterprise-client-os-deployment
CAB files are files released by Dell for enterprise deployment tools and include drivers for specific business class computers (Latitude, Optiplex and Precision computers). They include drivers for all types of hardware that may be sold with that model.
These .cab files are updated by Dell on a scheduled basis, see https://www.dell.com/support/search/pa/en/pabsdt1/#q=driver%20cab%20release%20schedule&sort=relevancy&f:langFacet=[en] and are released differently than something one may find on support.dell.com, those are almost always newer versions of various hardware drivers than what is inside the .cab files for the SDA.
The page above is monitored for any changes/updates/additions for drivers. Once the cab files are verified, they are transferred to a location where all SDA can reach them; choosing the “Check for Updates” option in the Driver Feed settings will show the changes immediately. Otherwise, the SDA will check on its own each night for updates.
There are times that a driver gets updated, or a new driver appears and we do not receive an alert. Submitting a ticket to support with the model and operating system of the driver desired should get the issues resolved quickly.
With that said, a user is able to add/replace/delete any driver in the drivers_postinstall folder that is necessary. So if there is a bad driver that doesn’t work with a model, feel free to remove it. Or if a driver causes issues and there is a newer driver it can be replaced with the newer driver.
