Toad shuts down at startup.
Either the Toad window flashes open then closed, or it seems to start up, opening a pop-up window named "Oracle Licensing Alert". Then click on the "I have read the above and agree" and Toad startup window opens, but then closes right away. Toad is not found under Task Manager and the systems has been rebooted.
RESOLUTION 1:
1. Exit Toad.
2. Locate the Toad.ini file within the Toad/User Files directory and rename the file to TOAD_OLD.ini.
3. Restart Toad.
RESOLUTION 2:
Uninstall/Reinstall Toad.
1. Go to Start | All Programs | Quest Software | Quest Installer | Quest Installer. Run Quest Installer. (For Toad 9, use Quest Installer. For older Toads use Add/Remove Programs.)
2. Choose to uninstall any Toad for Oracle listed.
3. After uninstalling, go to the installation directory, C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle, and delete any remaining Toad for Oracle directories.
4. Find the C:\Documents and Settings\<personal folder>\Application Data\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle. Rename the whole directory. (Only is working with Toad 9.7 and newer.)
5. Now install Toad for Oracle again.
Make sure you have full admin privs and that the install file is on a local drive (as opposed to installing over a network). If you have any firewall or anti virus scanning software, please disable for the install of Toad.
