How to configure File System Template exclusions (4318927)

An administrator needs to restrict the agent from capturing events from specific files or folders. This document will outline the process of adding an Exclusion Filter to a File System Template.

Complete the following steps to add an exclusion filter to a File System Template:

1. Select “Auditing” in the lower left of the “Administration Task” tab of the Change Auditor Client.
2. Select “File System” in the mid-section of the pane on the left.
3. Select the desired File System Template from the list in the right pane.
4. Click “Edit” in the button bar menu at the top of the form
5. Select the path to where the filter is to be applied and click the “Exclusion” tab towards the bottom of the form.
6. Enter the folder/file exclusion string in the field provided, click “Add” to move the entry into the list below (click the “Click here for example” for the correct format of exclusion strings).
7. Click “Finish” to close the form.

It may be necessary to refresh the agent’s configuration so the changes will be effective immediately.
