Precision 5820 Tower - Unable to Format Drives and\or unable to boot into Windows

A Precision 5820 fails to format hard drive from KBE during Windows Deployment

Special drivers are required to be into the KBE in order to recognize the SSD. This is only applicable to this particular model, a tailored KBE needs to be built.

Until DELL releases known good WinPE10 drivers for this model, we will need to build a KBE with very specific drivers.


1- Download DELL's WINPE10 driver pack from here:

(Version A07, ID K72DP, Date 01/09/18, Size 94MB)


2- Extract CAB file to a local folder. We used 7zip, if you see a Payload error, please ignore it.

3- Go to the folder \storage\mtwv3_a00-00\windows10-x64\iaahci.inf\5.2.0.1194\ 

4- Remove the files named "iaVROC.cat", "iaVROC.inf" and "iaVROC.sys"

5- Download the attached zip file, and extract them to \storage\mtwv3_a00-00\windows10-x64\iaahci.inf\5.2.0.1194\



6- Copy Storage and Network folders from your device to the SDA Samba share,  
\\YourKBOXIP\drivers\kbe_windows_x64\

7- Make sure those are the two ONLY folders there

8- Open KBE Manipulator, and create a new KBE with that tool. See: https://support.quest.com/download-install-detail/6084577

You could use this same drivers for \\YourKBOXIP\drivers\drivers_postinstall\dell\windows_10_x64\precision 5820 tower\ , But you will need to add missing ones (video, audio, chipset, SDCard reader, etc.)
