Toad
User wants to know how to manage list of servers on the TOAD login page. User has many entries on the list that are currently redundant and would like to remove them without modifying TNSNAMES.ora file.
For Toad 7.5.2
1. Locate "TOAD.INI" file in your Toad folder
2. Open the file with a Text Editor, scrolling down, look for the LOGIN entries. For Example:
[LOGIN1]
SERVER=TRESTLES734
USER=SCOTT
PASSWORD=]QBFY^**
PROTOCOL=TNS
LASTCONNECT=03/27/2002 10:05:21 AM
3. Highlight and delete the LOGIN entry of your choice.
NOTE:
It is advisable to make a copy of this file before attempting to edit it.
For Toad 8.0 and higher:
Launch Toad, the connection entries will be display on the left hand side of the Toad login screen. You can select multiple connections and hit the "DELETE" key to remove the entries.
For Toad 8.x the connection entries are now store in two files Connections.ini in the directory C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\8.x\User Files.
For Toad 9.7.2 and higher, the connection entries are now store in two files (Connections.ini and Connectionpwds.ini) located in the directory C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\10.6\User Files.
