Toad still does that, but differently. The old edit control would highlight all matching braces on either side of the caret position. The new edit component highlights matching braces when the caret is touching a brace. It's somewhat different.
- Caret in middle, no highlighting.
- Caret adjacent to a brace that has a matching pair. Both braces highlighted in green, by default.
- Caret adjacent to a brace that is unmatched. It's highlighted in red, by default.
- The highlighting colors of matched and unmatched braces is configurable in Options on the Editor|Font and Styling page.
