Issue
After migrating users from Lotus Notes to MS Outlook using the Binary Tree applications we have an issue whereby our users on MS Outlook get delivery failures when sending emails to newly migrated users. How do we correct this?
Solution
This is not an issue caused by the migration. The user must update their Outlook contact list with the user's new address. Also the auto-complete email address cache (type ahead or cached contacts) must be deleted, or Outlook will keep using the old address pointing to the Notes email address.
To fix this problem each user must delete their .nk2 file.
Open up windows explorer, and paste the following into the address bar:
%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Outlook or %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Outlook\RoamData
Delete the Outlook.NK2 file that you find in this folder.
