At the end of installing an Agent onto an Exchange 2003 cluster on Windows 2003, a pop-up message is received:
"Service name: Quest Agent_Name Agent (Server_Name) Not found some dependencies for service"
where Agent_Name could be any of the agents such as Transmission, Mail Source, Mail Target, etc.
The EMWMigration.log contains errors similar to the following:
"7/2/2009 11:26:51 AM aeEMWGUIShared::CmodMisc::ProcessingLogMessage Computer: Node_Name | Info: 1060 | Description: The specified service does not exist as an installed service. Cannot open service 'Quest Agent_Name (Server_Name)' (System\Node_Name, OpenService). | Severity: 2 | Source: aeService
7/2/2009 11:27:04 AM aeEMWGUIShared::CmodMisc::ProcessingLogMessage Error: (Computer: DIR | Error: -2147221499 | Description: Service name: Quest Agent_Name Agent (Server_Name)
Not found some dependencies for service | Severity: 0 | Source: InstallOnCluster)"
The file share required for the agents is missing (deleted). For example, QMMEX$Cluster_Name$
This share is a required dependency for each agent installed on the cluster and should be listed in the Dependencies tab of each agent installed.
Recreate a new File Share resource in Cluster Administrator. Bring the File Share on line and add the file share to the Dependencies tab of each agent.
Please see the attached Word Pad doc for screen shots on creating a file share in Windows 2003 clusters.
