Trouble matching via GAL with Office 365
Working on a migration (Notes to Office 365), and struggling to get Notes MIgrator (NM) connected to Office 365. I have an Outlook profile called BPOS that is connect via the “tempadmin” account which is a global admin. I have not populated the CAS entry as I believe it must use the Outlook profile for connectivity.
When I try to resolve a user by GAL it fails. NM loads Outlook with the CMTe (or BPOS) MAPI profile, stating "opening Exchange address book." It fails right away and the status in Check Errors is “No AD Data”
Solution
We recommend matching using PowerShell. Please read the following if you must use the GAL for matching. Make sure your account has a Short Name. This usually happens for test accounts. If this is not the case then:
When you start Outlook, confirm it loads correctly etc. Try sending an email from the Address book. Confirm it's working. Make sure the MAPI profile is in non-cache mode.
Close Outlook. Go to the Control Panel, find the Mail applet. Create a new Outlook profile by Copying the main/default one.
Set this profile as the default.
Open Outlook using the default MAPI profile make sure it is working OK.
Now open NM and try matching against the GAL again. If this process still does not work, then we recommend matching via PowerShell
