Issue
User migration fail to O365 - ! Error: CreateProfile() 80040115: unable to configure message service to create temporary profile
Solution
We successfully matched a user, then immediately attempted a migration, but it is failing with the following error: ! Error: CreateProfile() 80040115: unable to configure message service to create temporary profile 'CMT Temp Migration Profile' for Exchange server
Or
! Error: CreateProfile() 81002746: unable to configure message service to create temporary profile 'CMT Temp Migration Profile' for Exchange server 'ServerName' access for SMTPAddress.
We reinstalled Outlook, and created new MAPI profile (ran FixMAPI).
MAPI profile is not cached.
Nothing worked.
What is causing our migrations to fail on all workstations?
Solution
The user's internet address in the CMTe person document does not match the primary (reply) email address, listed in bold in O365.
Modify the CMTe person document, and change the 'Internet Address' field, save the CMTe person document.
Changes to the source and destination information are not pushed down to the back-end record. the only solution is the one you performed, save the back-end mdb file.
Delete the users from the back-end (CMT.exe).
For 3.8.2 and newer versions:
Go to the Migration - Advanced view
Click the 'Clear or Reset User(s)' view action button
Select 'Remove Back-end User Record'. This will delete the back-end record, containing the incorrect destination mailbox location
For 3.8.1:
Open SQL Management Studio
Open the CMTe database
Open the 'CMT_User' table
Delete all the user entries that had the issue.
Open the MigrationQueuetable table and remove any and all entries not currently migrating.
Close SQL management studio
For 3.7 and earlier releases
To delete the back-end record, you must open the CMTe.exe
Click the "Users" tab, and delete the users that need to be migrated. CMTe will see there is no matching record and create a new record with your new internet address (dest_data/email property).
This will also use an additional license. We can provide you additional licenses if needed.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Restart the Internet Information Services(IIS) from CMD, command iisreset
Return to Lotus Notes
Start the migration
The migrations should now run successfully.
