Running the installer file and received the following error message:
1618 – Another installation is already in progress. Complete that installation before proceeding with this install.
RESOLUTION 1:
Complete the other started installation before proceeding with this install.
RESOLUTION 2:
If there is no installation currently in progress, it may be that the following Registry Key is set after a previously failed installation of 'any' MSI software product.
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\InProgress
First, try rebooting the PC and try again. One user report stated that the problem went away the next day.
Next, if you continue to get the error, go to Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services | open the "Windows Installer" service. Change "Startup Type:" from Manual to Disabled and then reboot your PC. After reboot, go back to the "Windows Installer" service, and change the "Startup Type:" back to Manual. Try the installation again.
RESOLUTION 3:
1. Start up your Task Manager (control + alt+ delete) and go to the Process tab.
2. Look for msiexec.exe and msiexec.exe*32. If you see them, kill the msiexec.exe process first then msiexec.exe*32. Make sure there is no other msiexec.exe process that start up again.
3. Now try launching the installer again and let me know if this works.
