Is there a limit to the number of category and custom fields I can enter on the configuration page? (4312331)

You can enter as many category values that you need to support your organization. The KACE SMA appliance ships with some default values, but you are free to replace them with appropriate values or add your own by clicking the green plus icon.

Edit Existing Category Values

1. Click Service Desk > Configuration > Queues.
2. Click on your specific queue if you have multiple queses and this will bring up the Queue Configuration page.
3. Click Customize Fields and Layout.  This will bring you to the Queue Customization page.
4. Click the paper and pencil Icon at the category you wish to change under Category Values.
5. Change the category to the desired name and click the Save button located to the right of the entry.

IMPORTANT! Clicking on the Save button to the right does not mean you have changed your category.  Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the Save button or Save and Continue to make sure your changes are properly saved.
 

Adding A New Custom Field

Unlike previous versions of the Service Desk, version 7.x of the KACE SMA allows you to add as many Custom fields that you need to support your organization.

1.  Click Service Desk > Configuration > Queues.
2.  Click on your specific queue if you have multiple queses and this will bring up the Queue Configuration page.
3.  Click Customize Fields and Layout.  This will bring you to the Queue Customization page.
4.  Click on the green plus sign at Custom Field.
5.  Add what you need and click the Save button located to the right of the entry.

 IMPORTANT! Clicking on the Save button to the right does not mean you have saved your new Custom Field.  Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the Save button or Save and Continue to make sure your changes are properly saved.
