Tuning gives expired license warning there is a commercial key. -
Description
I have Toad for Oracle and SQL Optimizer 7.x installed. My key should include a commercial version of Tuning, but when I try to use Tuning, it notes that it is expired. I am not having any problems with Toad.

Cause
By default SQL Optimizer 7.x has a 30 day trial key registered. If a commercial key is not registered (Toad key, Quest Central key, Optimizer Standalone key) the trial key is applied and will eventually expire and prompt the user for a new key.

Resolution
1. Verify that your key does enable SQL Optimizer.
2. Verify that you have that key that enables tuning registered in SQL Optimizer:
In SQL Optimizer, go to Help | Authorization/Licensing | Enter the license key and site message. If in Toad 7.4 and older, you may need to select the product you are licensed with tuning through, i.e. the key is a Toad for Oracle key, select "Toad for Oracle with SQL Tuning". -

This applies to SQL Optimizer for Oracle version 7.0 and up.
