Normally, Archive Manager services and archived message shortcuts do not directly reference the IP address of the Archive server. Instead, the tool relies on the DNS to resolve the name to the IP address.
If the IP address of the Archive server needs to be changed, no additional changes have to be made as long as the DNS is updated appropriately. After changing the IP address of the server, we recommend restarting the archive server so that Windows and all Archive Manager services can get a fresh start with the new IP address.
Note: If the Archive server is configured to create shortcuts that use an external DNS name, please ensure that both the internal and external DNS entries for the archive server, as well as firewall rules, are updated appropriately.
