Customer has a FMS with FglAM and Oracle cartridge installed to remote monitor a Oracle RAC. Customer investigated OS and found out several messages like below:
PS1=QUEST_AGENT_; export PS1 ; setenv PS1 QUEST_AGENT_
ksh -p; exit
Is this the agent exporting environment variables trying to collect some information from OS or RAC instances?
When the Unix connection is established for the OS monitoring either through ksh or bash, the following command is sent:
PS1=QUEST_AGENT_; export PS1 ; setenv PS1 QUEST_AGENT_]
If you go into the agent properties and disable the OS collections, then the OS monitoring will not occur.
Without the OS monitoring enabled however, some Oracle information (including ASM autoextensible tablespace sizes) which rely on disk or CPU metrics would not be available.
