More information on the DB2 Response Time metric (4310535)

By default, how often does this script run? Is it based on the collection frequency? If so it is running every 60 seconds?

There are collections in which is saying the database has 0ms in response time. What does this mean?

In the chart, when it says 16ms in response time, is this the average for the 5 minute or average for some other time interval?

From the alerts I see some stating that it was 32ms, what does this mean?

Does the average response time metric include connection time? Or is this the response time from the agent executing the sql statement and returning it back to the foglight fglam? Can you provide details as to how the ave response time is calculated?

1. The script would be based on the DB2 collection and is governed by the online, offline, and realtime collections.

2. The database response time is the time it takes to run the SQL, and doesn't include the connection time. What you see in the data viewer is a rounding of the double value. The FMS does this rounding and it only occurs in the data viewer for display purposes - the UI can display the real value. This means that it took a very little amount of time for the DB to response.
   
3. The 16ms in response time would be the average for the 5 minutes period that was listed. If the collection only runs the one time then this would be the duration of the single response time.
   
4. The 32ms is the average for the five minutes (one collection may have ran).
   
5. The DB_CONNECTION_TIME is the duration it takes to establish a connection from the FglAM to the monitored host.
   The DB_RESPONSE_TIME is the response time of a query representing the general workload (“select 1 from sysibm.sysdummy1”) when the connection is already open.  
   The DB_CONNECTION_AVAILABILITY The percent of nodes for which the connection is available.
   
   Average response time would the time average for the totals of the response times during the period in the zonar of length of time selected.
