Error "OCI-31001: Invalid resource handle or path" selecting an XMLTYPE column that contains a DO -
Description
User runs the following statement in SQL Navigator:
SELECT C_ID, C_XML
FROM C_TABLE
WHERE C_ID = 123;
Where C_XML is a column on table C_TABLE which is of XMLTYPE and contains a DOCTYPE (DTD) reference to a file. The statement gets the following error in SQL Navigator:
OCI-31001: Invalid resource handle or path name "/abc.com/xyz.dtd"

Cause
Issue seems to occur on SQL Navigator users with an Oracle Instant Client -
Resolution
STATUS:
This issue has been identified as a defect and is waiting for fix in a future release of SQL Navigator.
WORKAROUND:
Install a full Oracle client to use with SQL Navigator instead of an Instant Client.
