Problem:
I have a small diagram that fits on a one "Letter" page. When I print to MS Print to PDF which is set to 'Letter. I can print to one page the first time, but when I go to print it again, it prints to 9 pages as if zoomed way in. I am checking on the box fit to page. Why so, and, is there any way to make it work?
Solution:
This issue originated with Microsoft who 'addressed' it by using a different mechanism. Currently the erwin design cannot handle 'Microsoft Print to PDF', because the default 'Microsoft Print to PDF' printer driver doesn't support "Preview" / "Alpha order" / Fit to page features. So, the options are to try a different PDF Writer driver instead. The customer, in this case, installed a copy of Adobe acrobat which installs an Adobe PDF print driver. That worked for them. You can also use any other PDF Writer as well.
However, in case where adding a new Printer Driver is not allowed or cannot be added for any reason there is a workaround. Notice that it works the first time. So, the workaround is to switch to any other printer, press Print and then cancel it. Switch back to 'Microsoft PDF Print to PDF' which resets it and it works as if being used for first time. Once again, it is the workaround, but using any other PDF Writer should work as expected.
