SQL notifying incorrect backup size to TSM. ANR0534W Transaction failed for session.
Description

LiteSpeed backing up to Tivoli Storage Manager - TSM reporting an ANR0534 error.
ANR0534W Transaction failed for session 1153665 for node SQL08 (SQLLiteSpeed) - size estimate exceeded and server is unable to obtain additional space in storage pool SQL2_DISK_1. Size estimate was 659 bytes.
Cause

This is not a LiteSpeed error. This error is a TSM error, error information is passed back to and reported by LiteSpeed.

ANR0534W Transaction failed for session session id for node <nodename> (WinNT) - size estimate
exceeded and server is unable to obtain additional space in storage pool BACKUPPOOL.
On the client, this error can be found:
ANS1311E Server out of data storage space.
Cause:
Compression is set to yes on the client and "compressalways yes" is causing the file to grow during the backup.
Resolution

Information taken from TSM Reference Guide.
Resolving the problem
In dsm.opt, add:
compressalways no
Recycle the scheduler and CAD.
Then re-attempt the backup.
Information should be passed along to your TSM Support team for analysis and resolution.
