Unable to cancel query on Impala -
Description
When connected to a Cloudera Impala database, and clicking the red 'Stop' button to cancel a query, nothing happens. -
Cause
Cloudera Impala ODBC Driver 2.5.30 does not support the Cancel feature -
Resolution
As of Toad Data Point 4.0, the following message should be displayed on clicking the cancel button:
If no message window is displayed, it may have been suppressed on a previous cancel attempt, by clicking the 'Do not prompt me again' checkbox. If this has been selected, there should still be a message to that affect in the status bar at the bottom.
Note that Cloudera Impala ODBC Driver 2.5.39 now supports the cancel operation.
