When upgrading from DA version 10.0 or earlier to version 10.2 or greater, the Express upgrade option is grayed out and therefore not available to select on the Desktop Authority setup screen.
When upgrading from DA version 10.0 or earlier and using a certificate (self-signed or custom) that is missing the “Subject Alternative Name” property, Express will not be a clickable choice. This certificate property was added to the self-signed certificates in version 10.1. The Express option may not be chosen because it is necessary to view the screen where a certificate choice will be presented. Similarly, the same un-clickable Express option may be encountered if the certificate cannot be read or found, or if there is a problem with the previously cached service credentials, etc... Indications of any certificate issues, such as those previously discussed above, will be recorded to the DAInstaller.log file during the installation or upgrade process.
Click on the Next button to proceed through each screen on the upgrade process and it will be virtually the same as selecting the Express option once the final setup screen is reached. All of the same options that the Express option conceals will still be automatically set and used at the conclusion of the choices screen.
