It may be desired, or required, to perform a full resynchronization of a user that has already been "switched" to the target. However the "Migration Agent for Exchange" (MAGE) does not have this functionality available if the user has been switched to the target environment.
This functionality is not available.
To perform a full resynchronization of mail it's important to remember that mail synchronizing is not dependent on the "switch" status of a user, per se.
For example, if you are syncing a mailbox and decide to "switch" the user so that they logon to the target environment, the syncing of the mailbox does not stop. Synchronization will completely finish syncing the entire mailbox to the target environment, independent of "switch" status.
However, in order to start a full resynchronization of mail for a "switched" user will require "unswitching."
Using this information, to resynchronize a mailbox of a switched user while using "Migration Agent for Exchange" (MAGE) could be achieved as follows:
1. "Unswitch" the user mailbox.
2. Perform the full resynchronization.
3. Immediately, switch the user back.
Clients will likely want the user to remain in target and so switching back immediately may be necessary. This is possible due to the fact the full resynchronization will continue to run and complete.
WARNING: The user may receive a switch notification, however, and this will need to be managed accordingly to avoid confusion with users.
