Title: I am unable to install ERwin 7.2 or 7.3 on Citrix Server using Citrix Profiling / Streaming Technology as Event Log Watch service is not supported. Error 1920
Description:
Although ERwin Installations on Citrix Server are technically not supported, they are possible subject to the licensing agreement. The Streaming\Profile Technology is an additional feature that allows a Citrix administrator to tailor their deployment of a Package to a User and stream the application to a client device on-demand.
CA ERwin Data Modeler requires the start of a Service called : Event Log Watch and this is not supported within the Streaming\Profile Technology of Citrix.
Solution:
Although ERwin Installations on Citrix Server are possible ( subject to the licensing agreement ) the Streaming\Profile Technology is an additional feature that allows a Citrix administrator to tailor their deployment of a Package to a User, and stream the application to a client device on-demand.
ERwin requires the start of a Service called : Event Log Watch and this is not supported within the Streaming\Profile Technology of Citrix.
Currently in Citrix the use of the Streaming\Profile Technology will encounter this issue and the ERwin installation will not complete without the start of the Service: Event Log Watch.
You will need to create a Citrix installation without using the Streaming\Profile Technology.
