How to monitor a file created daily with different filename?
Description

We need to monitor a file size on one of the spotlight monitored servers; however, the file is made each morning with today’s date appended to the name. What is the best way to monitor this file?
Cause

Currently Configure Monitored Files, does not allow for wildcards to be included as part of the filename.
Resolution

WORKAROUND:
- Have the file created on a subfolder
- Created a windows scheduled task to zip the folder daily after the file has been generated and have the zipped file deleted by the end of the day, this way the filename will always be the same, and spotlight will be able to monitor it properly.
STATUS:
Enhancement request has been logged for condieration for a future release of Spotlight on SQL Server Enterprise
