Setting up Exchange for the SMA: Quick Checklist (4304884)

This is a reference list of things to check on Exchange if email is not flowing correctly.

1. Verify you have a User mailbox set up for end users to email to. This would commonly be something such as help@domain.com. This will also be the address used for the Alternate address for Service Desk | Configuration | Queues | name of queue | Queue Detail.

2. Verify a Contact has been created to send to. Usually similar to help@kbox.domain.com. This is the Email address in the Queue Detail.

3. Verify that a Hub Transport rule has been created in Exchange - MS Exchange  in Premises | Organization | Configuration | Hub Transport. It should have Conditions/sent to people set to the email address in the first step. On Actions, verify it has "redirect the message to addresses" checked and use the contact address.

4. In Hub Transport/Send connector, verify there is a send connector to the SMA by FQDN. This depends on a valid DNS record that the Exchange server can access.

5. In Server Configuration/Hub Transport, verify there is a Receive Connector for the K1000. You can set this up to only except from the K1000 ip address. Verify in the connector, in the network tab, that it is listening on All Available (unless you have multiple IP address and can confirm one particular IP is valid), and receive mail has the K1000 IP address. Also set Permissions Groups to have a check for anonymous users.
